New Media Producers

This group is for talking about the future of News, new business models around Media, like blogging, podcasting, video, and other emerging mobile, streaming or downloadable content. Orlando has a very wide distribution of journalists, podcasters and bloggers, as well as the amateurs. What will happen if we get them all in the same room? We will be having regular monthly meetups. A strong community will allow local producers, advertisers, and anyone who produces content to be in a better place going forward. There have also been a few "Think and Drink" events held in the past related to these subjects. One was a panel discussion about communicating with local media and building communities. We'd also love to get a PodCamp together one of these days. I know we all miss BlogOrlando, and the same kinds of discussions can happen without bringing anything too tech-specific into the game. A PodCamp is a FREE BarCamp-style community UnConference for podcasters and listeners, bloggers and readers, and anyone interested in New Media. The first PodCamp was held September 8-10, 2006 in Boston, Massachusetts. PodCamps are now being held worldwide. You do NOT need to be a podcaster to attend a PodCamp. If you're interested in podcasting or blogging, if if you're a podsafe musician (or want to be), or just someone curious about podcasting and new media, then please join us -- and bring a friend or colleague.
